Electrical invoice format
An electrical invoice is the bill an electrician or electrical contractor issues for installation, repair, inspection or service work on wiring, panels, circuits and connected equipment. A conventional electrical invoice format places the business name, license number and contact details at the top, followed by the customer, the job site, the invoice number and the issue and due dates. The scope of work describes what was installed or repaired, and the line items separate labor, materials and fees such as permit and inspection charges.
An electrical contractor invoice for a larger project may add a deposit already received, progress payments or approved change orders, while an electrical service invoice for a single call usually lists a service call charge, hours on site and the parts replaced. Electrician billing commonly uses hourly labor plus materials at cost with a markup, or a flat price per task; both appear on the same template, and the markup applies only to material lines.
Electrician receipt
An electrician receipt confirms that an electrical job has been paid. The generator produces one from the same document: choosing the Receipt document type marks the invoice paid in full, sets the amount paid to the total so the balance due is zero, and adds the payment date and the payment method, such as cash, check, card or a bank transfer. The PDF carries a Paid in full line instead of payment instructions, so the customer has a record of the payment as well as of the work.
Sample electrician invoice
The sample below is a filled electrical work invoice for an EV charger circuit and two receptacle replacements. It itemizes the labor and materials for each task, as an electrical work invoice should, so the customer can match every line to the work done. Switched to the Receipt type once the customer has paid, the same document becomes an electrician receipt. The figures are examples only.
Example figures for illustration only. They are not typical prices or rates for this work.
